Miracle League Baseball
Miracle League baseball is built on five principles:
• Every player bats once each inning
• All base runners are safe
• Every player scores a run before the inning is over (last one up gets a home run)
• Community children and volunteers serve as ‘buddies’ to assist the players
• Each team and each player wins every game
The Miracle League is also about making new friends, building self-esteem and being treated just like other kids. Miracle League uses a “buddy” system—pairing each player with a volunteer to assist them throughout the game.
Miracle League teams play on a custom-designed, synthetic turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries such as the existing Miracle Field in Roselle (304 E. Pine St.).
We are looking for interested volunteers, coaches, and umpires.
