The Jane Hodgkinson Scholarship Fund

Access to programs has always been near and dear to Jane’s heart. Your support of the Jane Hodgkinson Scholarship Fund will honor Jane’s legacy of leadership and provide significant support to children and adults with special needs who depend upon WDSRA programs to enrich their lives.

WHO

Support is needed to provide recreational opportunities for those who are facing financial challenges. Through WDSRA programs, individuals with special needs grow as individuals, develop as part of a team and discover their capabilities.

WHAT

Raise a minimum of $100,000 in scholarship monies. Providing at least $20,000 per year for 5 years. Raising funds for scholarships will continue beyond Jane’s retirement. Scholarships are awarded to individuals who have proven financial need.

WHY

Over the past 3 years, scholarship requests have more than tripled. In 2008, requests totaled $7,000; in 2009, $11,000 and in 2010, $25,000. Currently, scholarships provide funding of 50% of program costs for up to 3 programs per season. The newly established Adopt A Participant program provides full scholarships for those demonstrating extreme need.

WHEN

The time is now. The need is great. And this is a wonderful way to honor Jane in her retirement.
